In Gifu Prefecture a pact has been concluded involving the company Gifu Zohen to realize a government-citizen forest-creation project. The activities will cover a 14.66-ha of satoyama woodland, which is integral to local communities.

The endeavor is rooted in a concept of generating a sound natural environment, supplying a place for environmental education, volunteer activities and maintaining the woodland as a water supply source.

The Forest-creation Challenge Team has been established by Gifu Zohen employees on a volunteer basis, to boost participation and undertake the bulk of the activities.

As a landscaping firm, Gifu Zohen possesses knowledge and technology for conservation, that will serve the project well while working together with local residents to create a robust biotope as well as venue for enjoying nature.
