Nominations open for the 2012 MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity until 30 June 2012. The prize honours individuals who have made outstanding contributions for the c onservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and will be awarded at an Award Ceremony to be held in India, in October 2012, in conjunction with COP11 to the Convention on Biological Diversity.

'It's time to look after, and be inspired, by the world around us,' said Brittany Trilford, the competition's 17-year old winner, who lives in New Zealand.
Supported by UNEP, The MEA Information and Knowledge Management Initiative includes 40 global and regional agreements from 14 secretariats hosted by 4 UN organizations and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This initiative targeting Parties and the environment community at large facilitates access to relevant MEA information from one central location: InforMEA, the United Nations Information Portal on Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
