They created an accreditation / certification system that assists the Japanese government, local authorities, and companies with education, research, and human resource training concerning sustainable environmental and biodiversity practices.

Audubon Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program

Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Certification

The Global Aquaculture Alliance BAP standards is a primarily "process" certification system combining site inspections and effluent sampling with sanitary controls, therapeutic controls, and traceability. By implementing BAP standards, program participants can better meet the demands of the growing global market for seafood produced in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. Successful participation in the BAP program is visually represented by the use of a BAP certification mark.

Better Sugarcane Initiative

Bonsucro is a multistakeholder collaboration working to provide standards and a certification scheme incorporating a set of principles, criteria, indicators and verifiers that certify farmers who produce sustainable sugar. The standard contains specific reference to biodiversity and was finalised in November 2009.

BREEAM

BREEAM is an environmental assessment method for buildings based on best practice in sustainable building design, construction, and operation.  It has become on of the most comprehensive and widely recognised measures of a building's environmental performance, enabling developers and designers to objectively certify the environmental credentials of their buildings.

Cairns Charter on Partnerships for Ecotourism

Building on the principles of the Quebec Declaration on Ecotourism, this charter seeks to support the establishment and operation of ecotourism partnerships. The Charter is accompanied by an Action Plan that outlines activities identified at the Cairns conference, along with timeframes for their implementation and the organisation responsible for implementation.

Citizens Environmental Foundation (Kankyo Shimin)

It coordinates practical activities, forms various project-specific study and research groups, and makes suggestions according to requests from various organization and companies.  Lastly, it provides information and opportunities to people interested in environmental issues.

Common Code for the Coffee Community (4C Association)
