The aim of these Guidelines is to provide a framework for the conservation and sustainable use of plants in medicine. To do this, the Guidelines describe the various tasks that should be carried out to ensure that medicinal plants are conserved effectively for the future and that where medicinal plants are taken from the wild, they are taken on a basis that is sustainable.The Guidelines conform to the principles of Caring for the Earth6, prepared in partnership by IUCN, UNEP, and WWF.

High Seas Task Force

The High Seas Task Force was established in 2003 by a group of fisheries ministers and international NGOs to combat illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing on the high seas. The Task Force identified nine practical initiatives necessary to expose IUU fishing activities, deter their undertaking, and improve enforcement against those responsible. The final report of the task force is now available.
