Peccary Pelt Certification Project

The programme aims to 'certify' the peccary pelts that come from communities that manage their wildlife hunting sustainably. This provides economic incentives for rural people to convert unsustainable bush meat hunting to more sustainable hunting by establishing community-based wildlife management.

Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI)

The PSCI is a group of major pharmaceutical companies who share a vision of better social, economic, and environmental outcomes for all those involved in the pharmaceutical supply chain. This includes improved conditions for workers, economic development. and a cleaner environment for local communities.

As a first step, the PSCI created the Pharmaceutical Industry Principles for Responsible Supply Chain Management. These Principles address five areas of responsible business practices: ethics, labor, health and safety, environment, and management systems.

Principles for Responsible Investment

The Principles for Responsible Investment were developed by an international group of institutional investors reflecting the increasing relevance of environmental, social, and corporate governance issues to investment practices. The process was convened by the United Nations Secretary-General. PEFC founded in 1999 is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. PEFC is a global umbrella organization for the endorsement of national schemes. About 8% of the world's forests are certified, of which two-thirds are certified to PEFC.
