GBO 4 - Previous Editions
There have been three previous editions of the Global Biodiversity Outlook:
Global Biodiversity Outlook 3
– Drawing on a range of information sources, including National Reports, biodiversity indicators information, scientific literature, and a study assessing biodiversity scenarios for the future, the third edition of Global Biodiversity Outlook (GBO-3) summarizes the latest data on status and trends of biodiversity. It provided the final assessment of the attainment of the 2010 Biodiversity Target and its conclusion provided the basis for the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020. It was launched on 10 May 2010 on the opening day of the fourteenth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice in Nairobi, Kenya.
Global Biodiversity Outlook 2 -
Launched in Curitiba, Brazil on 20 March 2006 during the opening session of the eighth meeting of the Conference of the Parties, GBO-2 assessed the status and trends of biodiversity and the key drivers of biodiversity loss. It provided a powerful case for the importance of biodiversity to human well-being and contained an overview of progress towards the 2010 Biodiversity Target
Global Biodiversity Outlook 1 -
The first edition of the Global Biodiversity Outlook was published and launched in November 2001. It provided a brief summary of the status of biological diversity, and reported on the steps being taken by the global community to ensure that the objectives of the Convention are met.
