The 2006 Catalogue of Funding Sources provides a useful information tool as an entry point for the exciting journey of financial and technical cooperation in support of accomplishing the challenging international biodiversity agenda.

Financial Information Engine on Land Degradation (FIELD)
A database established and maintained by the Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, which contains information related to sustainable land management financing. Most of entities contained therein also provide funding for other biodiversity activities.

Online CPF Sourcebook on Funding for Sustainable Forest Management
The database was developed and is maintained by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). It contains information on over 600 funds and is a valuable starting point in the search for funding opportunities to support sustainable forest management projects.

Bilateral official development assistance agencies
Conventional bilateral official development assistance agencies are normally members of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD/DAC). OECD/DAC website provides a link to its members.

United Nations Development Group (UNDG)
The UNDG meets to decide on issues related to country level coordination to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Its membership has grown over time, and consists of all major United Nations financial and technical assistance agencies.

European Foundation Center (EFC)
The EFC Funder Profile Database contains more than 1,000 in-depth profiles on foundations and corporate funders active in and with Europe. Users can search the database via the Funders Online portal or order topic-specific funding directories which are produced from the database.

The Foundation Center’s Finding Funders can be searched by foundation name for basic information about the more than 70,000 private and community foundations in the U.S.
