Description: First introduced populations has been maintained on the Rock of Gibraltar in the early 1740s
There are reports of at least three other introduction of monkeys from Morocco to Gibraltar, the last of which (1939-1943) gave rise to the current population. Today there are about150 monkeys in six troops.
