Facing a possible sanction from the European Union (EU) to its marine and aquatic products, the government is eyeing an amendment to the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998. The European Commission recently announced the possibility of an import ban against the Philippines, notably on tuna, if it fails to curb illegal fishing.
