Late in 2011, a team of 14 scientists published a groundbreaking paper in the prestigious journal Science. The paper, entitled Global Seabird Response to Forage Fish Depletion – One-Third for the Birds provided convincing evidence that seabirds begin to suffer when the food available in the ocean declines below a critical level.
