I am very pleased to inform you that thanks to the financial support of the Government of Switzerland, a high level retreat of the Biodiversity Liaison Group established by the Conference of the Parties in 2002 was held at the Château de Bossey, Geneva on 1 September 2010. The heads of Biodiversity-related Conventions agreed to recommend that the new Strategic Plan for 2011 - 2020 to be adopted by COP 10 and submitted to the High Level Event of the sixty-fifth session of the United Nations General Assembly should be considered as the Biodiversity Plan not only of the CBD but the whole UN family.
