The side event will demonstrate country action on islands to progress the CBD - specifically linking to the Programme of Work on Protected Areas, Biodiversity and Climate Change and Invasive Species. Countries will share progress, lessons and experiences on their island commitments, in particular how the Micronesia Challenge and Caribbean Challenge countries have identified their protected area financing needs. Finally it will look at opportunities for funding partnerships including those on offer through Lifeweb and look at how to strengthen these.
