Meeting
Tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 10)

The Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) for Business provides key decision-makers with access to comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date biodiversity information to support critical decisions. For the first time, users can access critical biodiversity information at the site level which can inform biodiversity strategies that avoid, minimize and offset potential impacts. Developed through a partnership between BirdLife International, Conservation International (CI), the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), IBAT for Business is the first product of an ambitious vision for improved collection, updating and management of biodiversity data. To accompany tools such as this, UNEP-WCMC, in partnership with the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA), the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has prepared an online A-Z guide for that provides information on over 30 areas of biodiversity importance. This includes those visualised in the IBAT and will allow for more informed decision making for the mitigation of biodiversity impacts by business. Get a first hand demonstration of the IBAT and understand how leading companies, multilaterals and government agencies are using this tool to make critical decisions, as well as how the A-Z guide can further support this process.
