Tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 10)

This side event aims to share information on actions by leading companies to ‘neutralise’ their residual environmental impacts and to introduce the Business and Biodiversity Offsets Programme. It seeks feedback from CBD delegates on what Parties and others can do to stimulate more companies to join such efforts. Key questions to be discussed include: How do companies measure their biodiversity impacts, positive and negative? Who verifies their efforts? What is business case for announcing such ambitious targets? How can more companies/sectors be persuaded to join in? What are the implications of the changes in IFC Performance Standard 6 and loan conditions by Equator banks?
