IUCN will invite experts representing different constituencies and views to discuss the key issues behind the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity in the next decade. Why is it urgent to go back to the science and facts behind the Aichi Targets' rationales? What are the specific needs identified at the national level through the NBSAP revision process so far? What have we learnt from the development of indicators to monitor progress in implementing targets in the past that can be applied to the current process? These and other questions will be addressed at the side event.
