Meeting
Seventh meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Article 8(j) and Related Provisions

In Paragraphs 12 and 13 of Decision X/43, the Conference of the Parties called for an in-depth dialogue on ecosystem management, ecosystem services and protected areas at the 7th Working Group on Article 8(j). This event will explore the cross-cutting nature of these issues, with a particular focus on Element 2 of the Programme of Work on Protected Areas (PoWPA) and linkages to other aspects of biodiversity law and policy such as traditional knowledge, customary sustainable use, ABS, and REDD. Participants will be encouraged to consider synergies and potential collaboration between CBD Programmes of Work as well as between the Rio Conventions and like-minded institutions.
