The event will present information on the V World Conservation Congress of IUCN, to take place in Jeju, Republic of Korea, in September 2012. IUCN Congresses have been important venues where indigenous peoples and local communities can make their voices heard on conservation topics. The Congresses have been influential in the development of policies and actions of international instruments and countries. IUCN promotes the active participation of members of indigenous peoples and local communities in its Congresses.
