Meeting
Fourth meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Review of Implementation of the Convention

The Rio Conventions Pavilion is a collaborative outreach activity of the Secretariats of the Rio Conventions (UNFCCC, UNCCD and CBD), and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), in addition to over thirty other organizations active in the implementation of the Conventions. The objective of the Pavilion is to promote and strengthen synergies in the implementation of the Rio Conventions. This is achieved through providing a coordinated platform for raising awareness and sharing information about the linkages in science, policy and practice between biodiversity, climate change and combating desertification/land degradation. Participants will be briefed on the Rio Conventions Pavilion activities at the margins of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20, 13-22 June 2012. The Pavilion programme includes the themes of financing the green economy, indigenous peoples and local communities, gender mainstreaming, cities, oceans, and land, in addition to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Rio Conventions. At this side event, we aim to garner additional interest, support and involvement for upcoming Pavilion activities, and strengthen the case for synergistic implementation of the conventions in the outcomes of Rio+20 to achieve the future we want.
