Eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 11)

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is the local authority of Greater Hyderabad City which is the host city of CBDCoP-11. GHMC is also looking after the biological diversity elements of the city as per the provisions of the Indian Biological Diversity Act 2002 & The Andhra Pradesh Biological Diversity Rules 2009. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation intends to release “Greater Hyderabad Biodiversity Index” in the international event “CBD CoP-11”. GHMC initiated the preparation of the index as per the latest methods & indicators specified in the “User Manual for the City Biodiversity Index” as displayed in the “CBD website”. GHMC already announced its City, State and National level schedules for preparation, public consultation & validation of “Greater Hyderabad Biodiversity Index”. Through this side event GHMC intends to release the document and to seek the opinion from International community and organizations.
