Meeting
Twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity

As part of the UNEP project “Improving the effectiveness of and cooperation among biodiversity-related conventions and exploring opportunities for further synergies”, funded by the European Union and the Swiss Government, a Sourcebook of opportunities for enhancing cooperation among the biodiversity-related conventions at national and regional level is currently being developed. The Sourcebook will provide an overview of the possibilities for enhancing the coherent implementation of the biodiversity-related conventions within five thematic areas (National Reporting and Information Management; Science-Policy Interface; NBSAPs and National Implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020; Resource Mobilization; and Capacity Building) and through institutional arrangements. It is intended as a guidance document for country actors and will highlight case studies of cooperation among national focal points and other key actors. Building up on the results of a peer-review workshop to be held in the afternoon of Sunday, 12 October, the objective of the side event is to gain feedback from side event participants of both the content and how it is communicated in order to facilitate the finalization of the Sourcebook.
