Achieving the Aichi Biodiversity Targets will require the streamlining of actions from the local level to national and regional levels, based on active participation from local stakeholders including the private sector. This side-event will showcase efforts by diverse members of the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI), which since its launch in October 2010 has expanded its membership in both developed and developing countries. It will aim to demonstrate approaches for gathering and engaging stakeholders at various levels in a collective dialogue for the sustainable use of biodiversity in culturally and socio-ecologically important landscapes. The session will welcome the hosts of past IPSI events to present their multi-stakeholder approaches and achievements. The outcomes of the recent of IPSI Case-study Workshop will also be reported to show how a variety of knowledge from the IPSI network will be fully utilized within and beyond the network.
