| abstract: | Though relatively intact, the Sapo National Park, Grebo National Forest, Grand Kru-River Gee National Forest, East Nimba Nature Reserve and the Lake Piso Sustainable Multiple Use Reserve face serious threats from illegal and unsustainable logging, unsustainable farming and illegal extraction of natural resources. The aim of this project is to strengthen the management of the existing protected areas and support the establishment of proposed protected areas and national parks in Liberia. |
