Together with an already existing project in the same area, structures for a protected area in the Northeast of the country with wetland and floodplain forests are to be established in order to contribute to improving the livelihood of the local population. This is an important stepping stone on the path towards the Congolese government's declared target of turning 15% of the country (mainly forest) into protected areas. |
