Main Information
Title Experiences and Practices on Incentive Measures in China
Description China submitted information on experiences and practices in incentive measures in China, structured under the following headings: development and revision of relevant laws; development and implementation of economic incentive measures; development of social, cultural and moral incentive measures in favour of biodiversity conservation; monitoring and examination of the implementation of incentive measures. The submission notes that, while some achievements have been made, more efforts need to be made. For instance, while some laws and policies have been evaluated and revised, a comprehensive evaluation of existing laws and policies has so far not been initiated. A comprehensive scheme of incentive measures for conservation and sustainable use has so far not been developed. A plan for training and capacity building with regard to incentive measure has so far not prepared. China points to lack of capacity and professional skills as important impediments.
