An agenda for action

Make a commitment

Safeguarding life on Earth isn’t a job for governments alone. Whether you are a local authority, a company, an educational institution or community group, you can contribute to protecting nature. We’re looking for concrete actions that can be scaled and could help accelerate biodiversity conservation and/or sustainable use and expand access to and sharing of benefits from our planet’s natural bounty. And we want actions that deliver tangible, measurable and meaningful results for biodiversity.

Join a global movement

The Action Agenda is your invitation to join a global movement of people committed to finding ways and means to accelerate progress on biodiversity goals . Parties at the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 15) held in 2022 adopted the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework with key goals for 2050 and targets for urgent action 2030 to bend the curve of biodiversity loss. There was also an agreement amongst national governments party to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), based on the text of the framework that achieving its goals requires all actors across society taking action on biodiversity. Actions to reach these goals and targets should also be implemented consistently and in harmony with the CBD and its Protocols and other relevant international obligations. The vision is to Live in Harmony with Nature by 2050 .

Make some waves
A single action can inspire 100 others. Register your commitment with your action(s) with targets, timeframes, target audience(s), location(s) and/or partners. Invite your professional contacts, family and friends to the platform, and watch the ripples spread across your office, neighborhood and global community.

*Please note that IT will be working on replacing the Aichi Biodiversity Targets with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework targets.*
