References The site ‘La Nature en Ville’ aims to raise awareness about the importance of the many natural environments, the large area green spaces, and the hundreds of thousands of trees found within Montreal. It also intends to raise public awareness on the initiatives of the City to preserve and enhance its green heritage.

Visitors will find information on the specificity of the natural environment, such as the impact of ‘eco-territories’ - which are distinct from parks and other green spaces - on health and quality of life of present and future generations, and will find out more about the challenge that the protection of these areas means in the context of urban systems. Soon, users will also be able to learn more about new approaches to greening developed by the City (by which we can combat the particular urban heat islands), and learn about Montreal’s trees, their varieties, and the maintenance they require.
