Official Launch of India Business & Biodiversity Initiative (IBBI), New Delhi
An event was organised in New Delhi on 22 May 2014 to formally launch the India Business and Biodiversity Initiative (IBBI). The business-led IBBI is hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with support from the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of India, and of the German International Cooperation (GIZ). The IBBI is now a member of the Global Partnership for Business and Biodiversity. The IBBI serves as a national platform for business and its stakeholders for dialogue, sharing and learning, ultimately leading to mainstreaming sustainable management of biological diversity into business.
The ten-point IBBI Declaration was presented at the event, highlighting the action areas where business can contribute to conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
