IBDAA - International Day for Biological Diversity, 30 April 2015
On the campus of the American University of Beirut in Lebanon
AUB's Nature Conservation Center organized its 9th annual celebration of IDB, under the theme "Technology & Art for the Love of Nature". The celebration/competition, entitled IBDAA which also means innovation in Arabic, consists of a poster forum during which university students get to showcase ideas and projects relevant to the the conservation and/or development of nature.
The past few years have witnessed the evolution of the competition to encompass more and more academic domains and as a result to engage more students, so that it now includes Arts & Humanities among its five categories and up to 215 participants this year. Thanks to the continuing help of Jammal trust Bank, AUB-NCC has been able to encourage and reward students' green initiatives. NCC also plans to further the growth of IBDAA next year on its tenth anniversary.
