Sangat Development Foundation is a grass-roots level initiative of local people working together for the conservation and protection of endangered species, specifically focusing on the conservation and protection of migratory birds of Deh Akro-II Desert Wetlands, Sindh Pakistan, through involving local and indigenous communities.

A national level event on the eve of the International Day for Biological Diversity was held by Sangat Development Foundation in Sindh.

Radio Pakistan Hyderabad organized a radio talk show about the importance of biodiversity for sustainable development. Leading environmentalists and climate journalists joined the talk show to discuss the degradation of wetlands, forests and other natural habitats of biodiversity and endangered species in Pakistan.

The talk show aims at creating awareness among the general public about biodiversity-related issues in Pakistan. The show is hosted by senior producer Ali Akbar Hingorjo.

  Virtual University (VU) Celebrates IDB 2015
Pakistan celebrated the International Day for Biological Diversity at Virtual University (VU) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. An awareness raising seminar was organised to sensitise students on pressing biodiversity issues of Pakistan and the world.

The Department of Botany, Government College University Faisalabad celebrated the International Biological Diversity Day (2015). Dr. Saqib Mahmood (Assistant Professor) and Dr. M. Zulqurnain Haider (Assistant Professor) organized the event under the guidance of Dr. Naeem Iqbal (Chairperson, Department of Botany). The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, graced the event as a chief guest. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zuber (Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology), Prof. Dr. Humayun Abbas (Dean, Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning), Prof. Dr. Farhat Abbas (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Dr. Nasir Ameen (Chairperson Department of Physics) and Dr. Sofia Anwar (Chairperson Department of Economics) were also present at the occasion. Celebrations of the International Day for Biological Diversity Shamozai Valley, Swat-Pakistan, 21-22 May 2015
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department celebrated the International Day for Biological Diversity in Swat by organizing awareness raising events: puppet show, environmental game, drawing competition and distribution of environmental books, among students. Govt. High School (Boys) Khazana and Govt. Girls High School Zarkhela Shamozai, Swat were identified for the events to increase the level of understanding of the students on biodiversity so they can further spread the message to others.

Two separate events were arranged both for the students by the, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department and Education Department. Around 1150 students from the selected government schools were enthralled with the performance of the puppets and other awareness raising activities on the International Day for Biological Diversity.
