The Outer Islands’ Public Presentation using Powerpoint School Competition will culminate with a Grand Finale. The competition’s Grand Finale has been organised to commemorate International Day for Biodiversity. This year's theme is closely linked with Seychelles as our main economic activities are fishing and tourism, which sustain the livelihoods of Seychellois, but which depend on maintaining our biodiversity. This theme is echoed in the school competition.
Also to be showcased is the art poster competition – themed “Positive and Negative Influences of the Biodiversity of the Outer Islands”.
The event aims to enhance public awareness and increase understanding of the importance of protecting the unique environment of the outer islands.
