Activities

The Japan Biodiversity Fund (JBF) has supported and conducted a diverse and far-reaching portfolio of activities. Initially, the Fund focused on raising awareness of the COP10 outcomes and supporting revisions of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) as requested by COP decision X/2. In 2015, the focus shifted to NBSAP implementation support and capacity-building of developing countries. Emphasis was placed on multi-year projects, responding to Parties’ needs for capacity-building programmes, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and supporting the development of a Secretariat-wide strategy for capacity-building.
