The JBF has supported several projects implemented by external partners, such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). While the projects vary in scope and scale, they all consist of building the capacity of developing country Parties to implement the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020, achieve the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and strengthen their overall capacity to implement the Convention.
