Key Issues for Implementing Biosafety: What COP-MOP7 can do.

A panel of government, NGO and scientific experts will discuss the key issues that COPMOP7 can decide on to effectively implement the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. The focus will include risk assessment, socio-economic considerations, Article 18 and unintentional transboundary movements.

The seventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (or COP-MOP 7) opened today at the Alpensia Convention Center in Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea.
