Recent Cooperation Agreements in Support of the Implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 13 June 2012 – At the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), the secretariats of the biodiversity, climate change and desertification conventions and the Global Environment Facility are joining forces under the Rio Conventions Pavilion to promote implementation of these three multilateral environmental agreements on sustainable development.

Supported by UNEP, The MEA Information and Knowledge Management Initiative includes 40 global and regional agreements from 14 secretariats hosted by 4 UN organizations and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This initiative targeting Parties and the environment community at large facilitates access to relevant MEA information from one central location: InforMEA, the United Nations Information Portal on Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
