Feb 3, 2016- Yesterday, on the occasion of the World Wetlands Day (WWD), the nine-lake cluster of the Pokhara Valley—Phewa, Begnas, Rupa, Dipang, Gunde, Madi, Neurani, Kamal and Khaste—were formally listed on the acclaimed Ramsar Sites. February 2 marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands in 1971 in Ramsar, the Iranian city on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
