I was thinking about Bordeaux recently, and what constitutes a First Growth designation for a wine, the Premier Cru classification.How do they decide which wine deserves that highest designation? It all has to do with terroir. If a particular grape varietal is planted on a certain hillside and is tended in a certain way, you get a transcendent result.
