Panel to study shrinking Amrit Mahal kaval lands

BANGALORE: A two-member expert committee will study the ecological and environmental consequences of the diversion of 10,000 acres of 'Amrit Mahal Kaval' (traditional pastureland ecosystems and forests for Amrit Mahal cattle) in Challakere taluk of Chitradurga district, for a host of defence, nuclear, industrial and infrastructure projects.
