I have the pleasure to inform you that, with the generous financial support of the Government of Spain and the European Union, the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is jointly organizing with the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) and the Friends of the Programme of Work on Protected Areas (PoWPA Friends), a regional workshop on capacity-building for the implementation of the CBD programme of work on protected areas, from 9 to 12 February 2009, in Fiji (the exact location will be intimated later).
