In adopting the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity (2011-2020), the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties in its decision X/2 requested countries to revise/update their national biodiversity strategies and action plans in line with the framework of the Strategic Plan. To facilitate this, the Secretariat had organized a regional workshop for South, East and Southeast Asia from 9 to 16 May 2011 in Xi’an, China, with the generous support of the Governments of Japan and China and other partners.
