Following extensive consultations with the Host Government as well as with Members of the Bureau, it has been decided that the seventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 9 to 20 February 2004. In addition, the first meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety will be held from 23 to 27 February 2004, at the same venue
