I have the honour to inform you that, at the kind invitation of the Government of Brazil, the eighth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 8) will be held in Curitiba, Brazil from 20 to 31 March 2006. The meeting will be preceded by the third meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Biosafety Protocol (COP-MOP/3), from 13 to 17 March 2006, to be held at the same venue. I am pleased to attach herewith the provisional agendas and the pre-registration forms for both meetings.
