After more than seven years at the service of the objective of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, Mrs. Cyrie Sendashonga, Senior Programme Officer, Biosafety, for the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has left the Secretariat to take up her new and exciting assignment at the service of the environmental community as a whole. Pending the advertisement and recruitment of her replacement, I am pleased to inform you that Mr. Worku Yifru has been designated Officer in Charge (OIC).
