I have the pleasure to inform you that, with the generous financial support of the European Union and the Government of India, the Secretariat is organizing, from 2 to 4 April 2007 in Dehradun, India, a South and West Asia sub-regional workshop on the review of, and capacity building for, the implementation of the programme of work on protected areas of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The workshop is organized in response to a request by the Conference of the Parties in paragraph 10 of decision VII/24 on protected areas.
