Following a recommendation of the 2006 Audit Report, the Secretariat initiated in July 2006, a transparent bidding process for the selection of its official travel agent. Six international companies submitted their offer. I am pleased to inform you that the selection committee comprising representatives from the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD), the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommended MKI Travel and Conference Management Inc. (MKI) as the most competitive company.
