GEF Grants Support Protection of Forest Ecosystems in Developing Countries

Washington, D.C., September 23, 2003 – The Global Environment Facility (GEF) has provided more than $777 million dollars in grants for nearly 150 environmental projects to promote the conservation and sustainable management of forest ecosystems. The topic of forest conservation is on the agenda of this week’s World Forestry Congress in Quebec City, Canada
