Entry into force of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety: Press Kit

Dr. Klaus Toepfer, the Executive Director of UNEP, Mr. Hamdallah Zedan, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), The Honourable Rejoyce Mabudafhasi, Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism for South Africa, and Mr. Juan Mayr, the former Colombian Minister of Environment who chaired the final rounds of negotiations of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, marked the entry into force of the Protocol with a press conference on 9 September 2003 in Durban, South Africa
