GEF Approves New Project to Support Early Entry into Force of the Nagoya Protocol

Montreal, 7 February 2011 – A major achievement of the recent tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity was the adoption, after more than six years of negotiation, of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization.
