UNEP and GEF will officially launch the 2010 Biodiversity Indicators Partnership at this high-level side-event. The GEF-funded 2010 Biodiversity Indicators Partnership (2010BIP) brings together organisations developing biodiversity indicators measuring progress towards the CBD's 2010 target. The aim of the 2010BIP is to enable a more comprehensive and consistent monitoring and assessment of global biodiversity, and it will coordinate and support the regular delivery of biodiversity indicators. The purpose of this event is to launch the project and present an overview of the 2010BIP activities and outputs with the aim of promoting awareness about the Partnership, its goals, and its contribution to supporting the work of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
