Livestock Keepers' Rights (LKR) is a concept developed by Civil Society during the Interlaken process and they are referred to in the Global Plan of Action on Animal Genetic Resources, but only in vague terms. Yet some of the cornerstones of LKR are covered by the CBD. The purpose of this side-event is to discuss congruencies and tensions between LKR and CBD.
