Ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 9)

Within this side-event we present a set of indicators forming an essential part of the German National Biodiversity Strategy. In a first presentation, Mrs Nickel from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) will introduce the key elements of the Biodiversity Strategy. In a second talk, a representative of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) will explain the indicator set in more detail. Each talk will take approximately 20 minutes and will be introduced by a moderator who will also guide a discussion after the talks. Brochures, flyers and a poster exhibition will provide additional information. Catering for participants will be provided with a special focus on organically produced food from regional sources.
